Job requirements
As an IT Security & Virtualization Specialist, you will be responsible for developing advanced IT security protection concepts and managing virtualized environments for critical infrastructure projects. Your role will involve installing and configuring systems, monitoring performance, managing backups, and ensuring security and efficiency across IT operations. Additionally, you will collaborate with R&D teams, contributing to the overall security posture of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Virtual environment administration – Manage and administer a Hyper-V environment supporting critical infrastructure projects.
System installation & configuration – Install and configure new and existing (virtual) systems and applications, including operating systems, network devices, and IT/OT infrastructure components.
Support R&D initiatives – Provide technical support for R&D activities during the evaluation phase.
Lifecycle management – Oversee the lifecycle of virtualization components in compliance with cybersecurity guidelines and mandatory patching requirements.
Infrastructure security – Implement advanced security measures such as antivirus, malware protection, and vulnerability scanning to safeguard IT environments.
Backup management – Maintain and manage secure backup solutions for critical infrastructure.
Troubleshooting & optimization – Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within the Hyper-V environment, ensuring optimal performance.
Technical support & documentation – Provide technical guidance, maintain documentation, and support teams with best practices in virtualization security.
Wikisphere & SharePoint administration – Manage user access, approvals, workflow automation, and coordination with backend administrators for collaborative tools.
Requirements:
MSc degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience, ideally with a focus on IT security, automation, or software development.
Hands-on experience in IT or system administration, including Windows/Linux environments, networking devices, and IT/OT devices.
Solid experience with Hyper-V technologies and containerization tools.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, etc.
Ability to lead and manage IT security & virtualization projects effectively.
Ability to work autonomously and become a recognized technical authority.
Strong spoken and written English skills (German is a plus).
Eagerness to take on development topics and drive innovation in security and virtualization.
