Job requirements

We are seeking an Devops Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in Git and a solid understanding of CI/CD to support our engineering domain experts. The focus of this role is to streamline version control practices, troubleshoot issues, and manage CI/CD processes, containerization Docker orchestration and virtual machines. You will act as the primary contact for Git and infrastructure topics, ensuring fast and effective support.

In this role, you will be responsible for training new colleagues in Git, addressing version control issues, and improving CI/CD best practices. Additionally, you'll support project teams with guidance on GitLab CI/CD configurations and serve as a "Git Police" to foster and uphold best practices in version control.

We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills, a good foundation in GitLab CI/CD, experience with containerization and supporting software development teams. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines

  • Experience with containerization, orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and deployment configurations

  • Work closely with team members to support the software throughout the entire development lifecycle

  • Give input on possible directions of future development

  • Become part of an internationally distributed team of developers and engineers

  • Designing Logging & Monitoring solutions

  • Integrate cloud native applications in existing AWS infrastructure

  • Train team members in Git and version control best practices, and provide support for troubleshooting Git issues and CI/CD configurations.

  • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows, ensuring consistency and adherence to best practices.

  • Develop and document best practices for version control and CI/CD, and continually seek to improve these processes.

  • Work closely with engineering domain experts, testing architects, and the AWS and other infrastructure teams to ensure seamless project support.

Key Qualifications:

  • Very good knowledge of Git, with experience training others and troubleshooting issues.

  • Good understanding of GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including experience with configuration, limits, and best practices.

  • Experience using Docker Containers with Gitlab CI/CD

  • Strong English communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and effectively.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including AWS and infrastructure teams, and maintain effective communication channels.
